Nov. 22 – Jan. 2. Santa vs. the Snowman IMAX Animated Film. From the creator of Jimmy Neutron, Santa vs. the Snowman returns as a special holiday treat at Sci-Port’s IMAX Dome Theatre. Nov. 24-26: Sci-Port's Holiday Camps. Sci-Port Louisiana's Science Center, 820 Clyde Fant Parkway, Shreveport. Holiday Camps are themed and planned to accommodate specific grade groups, as follows: K-1st Graders, 2nd-3rd Graders, 4th-5th Graders. Nov. 24:  December on the Red Lighting Ceremony. Louisiana Boardwalk, 390 Plaza Loop, Bossier City. Santa Claus and city officials will throw the switch on the 40-ft. Christmas tree adorned with more than 5000 lights, kicking off the holiday season. Nov. 26:  Great Russian Nutcracker. Strand Theatre, 619 Louisiana Ave., Shreveport. The Great Russian Nutcracker returns to the Strand Theatre in cooperation with the Louisiana Dance Foundation. Nov. 28 – 30:  Shop 'Til You Drop Mistletoe Christmas Arts, Crafts & Gift Show. Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Rd., Bossier City. The show has 160 unique shops all under one roof. Nov. 29:  Plain Dealing Christmas Open House. Plain Dealing Town Square, Plain Dealing. Stores will be open and serving refreshments. There will be Christmas decorations and music provided by local churches. Also, Santa will make a special appearance. Free. 318-326-4234.

Dec. 1 – 31:  Holiday Entertainment at the Boardwalk. Louisiana Boardwalk, 390 Plaza Loop, Bossier City. The Boardwalk will feature live Holiday entertainment every night in the month of December including school bands, dance groups, carolers, clowns and much more. The classic well-loved Charles Dickens story "A Christmas Carole" has been adapted into a hugely successful stage musical by renowned writer-composer-lyricist, Leslie Bricusse, as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge repents his past life when visited by three successive Christmas spirits.
